What is a Queensland safety certificate?
A safety certificate—often called a roadworthy certificate—shows that a vehicle met Queensland’s minimum safety standards at the time of inspection. An approved examiner must physically inspect the vehicle. If it meets the relevant standard, a certificate may be issued.
When might you need one?
A current inspection certificate is commonly required for a registration transfer and for registering certain unregistered vehicles. The exact requirement depends on the vehicle type and transaction.
